This article is intended as a guide for new and current users to refer to as in posting pictures on this wiki.
- Guide Lines
- Pictures uploaded to the wiki should be relevant to the subject it represent with a need for it to be here. Editors/posters/uploaders should try to use existing images already on the wiki first unless necessary need for it. Duplication existing images should not be happening. So please check categories of Category: Images and it's up categories for desired images or use image and media icon on the editor ribbon.
CRITICAL AWARENESS : This article is not to stifle anyone's creativity, this is protect us as a community. A lot of FANDOM wikis do not do copyright information on their images. While there not been reports of images being pulled down or wikis being shutdown. We need to safeguard this place.
Take this to heart! Images belongs to someone, they could be a fan, just like YOU. That said, note who made it, where you got it from. Screen Grab, say where you got it. It's your own work. BE PROUD you made it. Say who made it. Read guidelines below and it' will be OKAY.

The essentials, the wiki tries very hard to avoid getting trouble with copyright of Intellectual property owners of images.
This is strictly a non-profit wiki, a fan site. Intended to celebrate BattleTech and it's related things. That said, all pictures must post at best of the abilities of the poster/uploader/editor who created the art and list copyright status.
Typically, pictures are notes as {{fairuse}} Fair Use, Fair use is a doctrine in United States law that permits limited use of copyrighted material without having to first acquire permission from the copyright holder.. Means anything we post here, we declare that we don't own it, if they don't like what we are doing with this image and they contact us, we pull it off the wiki.
If image belongs to YOU (as you made it fully) or you got permission from the artist to post it here. The image when uploaded will be listed in it's file as {{permission}}
Image Notes: This section is intended to declare this why it was uploaded, it's for non-profit, we don't own it! owners can ask us to remove it! Additionally, we note what changes were made if you wish or know.
Things to Do when Uploading[]
So When you upload a file / image, remember one thing; Make sure you call it something unique or add Parentheses to file name; Example GiantMech (MWO or MechWarrior Online Version) or Hunter Tank (HBS version).
Steps of Adding a Picture[]
- 1 Click on "3" dot icon top upper left of screen in.
- 2 Use cursor and choose the "Upload New File"
- 3 Choose Name for File, remember use Parentheses if you need unique. Remember there likely duplicates of this picture if it's popular or a canon design people like making images of
- 4 Use the Template Listed below and customize it to use in there. At bare minimum, make sure the {{fairuse}} is being applied to file!
- 5 Click the "Save button on the bottom right of the screen.
- 6 Once done, and uploaded add a Category to this. Categories are important to find on the wiki, FANDOM codes get errors or upset if there no category.
There is existing list of categories exclusive to pictures, so it's easy to find them. Look in this category, for Fan Art and apply this to category. If you know the artist's individual name (not the corporation who originally made it.) please add it. Sometimes this isn't done, but editors will try add it they can't figure it out later. Add category for each writer or artist who works appear on this wiki.
- 7 Double Check the file info make sure there nothing wrong, you can still edit the text by click EDIT.
- Note
- If there something wrong with the image or you wish to update it. You can click up near bottom of the page where it will allow you remove or upload new version of the image. Please don't delete unless you have to unless there really wrong with it.
