Written by fan writer, Cannonshop, this is a fan story centers on the eccentric Lyran Duchess, Sharon Ngo. She is a member of a line of rulers, whom have always been on edge what seen as acceptable by both Inner Sphere & Clan rulerships, whom has always been known for doing what is right for her people. However, by doing so created many enemies on the way.
The Broken Commonwealth tells the story of Duchess Sharon Ngo in 3145 facing her world's greatest crisis. Lyran Commonwealth, the interstellar state which Kowloon had been part of for centuries has been "broken". With the Dark Age of no Hyper Pulse Generators and series bad decisions and failed military campaigns, the world is now on it's own. So Sharon Ngo, must do whatever it takes keep her world from being destroyed by forces destroying the Commonwealth.

- The Broken Commonwealth vs The Administrator Series : TBC (this story) is a different version of the Administrator series of stories, Same characters, similar events. However, this story is it's own story, a stand alone and self-contained story which goes on different thread of content. Sharon Ngo, the lead characater of the story is does not have same emotional issues as she did in the Administrator series.
- The Broken Commonwealth vs Ngoeverse : The Broken Commonwealth is also based on the Ngoeverse, it's is own universe. An alternated telling of the prime story of Ngoeverse, with new starting point in the Dark Age Era (in Cannonshop's Ngoeverse).
- Accents: The main characters are descendants of Vietnamese. The author has shown this accent in some of the character's speech. Some words will appear to be misspelled, but are showing how the character accents would sounds. Example: Amanda saying "Ma'am" is spelt as "Mum". This particular accent is consistent across the story chapters.
