There are only a limited number of times you can pull certain tricks...


"Portside launchers are down." Larah Nghien announced, "We're also losing fuel from tank two and four."

Elizabeth nodded. "Recover fighters, we're going to jump for Goalpost three."

"Ayeh, Mum."

Of the four Sampans loaned/sold to the Snow Ravens, one was a cripple waiting for Search and Rescue, but not Cooper's. Two others were out of position to help, and the Snow Raven saKhan's chosen crew had just done serious hamburger to both Elizabeth's own Sarah H. Jennings and Vu Dao's Roberta Vao, though neither vessel was truly out of action yet. "DC, give me good news!"

"We've unjammed the deck gun, mum, and we're getting the dump under control on the hydrogen feeds Starboard Dorsal Forward."

"What of our Helium supply??", Elizabeth demanded

"Still in the green, no leaks on the core feeds."

She started the stopwatch. "I want my fighters in the barn in four minutes thirty." she ordered, "They don't have to be re-pressed, just get them in and locked down."

"Ayehm Mum! Four minutes!!"

It would shave close, as KCG Paula Pueblo-Lian emerged from the general area Liz was plotting for her own jump, it would be a 'slider' move-fresh ship replacing damaged ship as the damaged ship moved to another location to make repairs more extensive than 'I promise' fixes relating to normal damage control.

"Anyone on my hull?"

"Team of four, Mum."

"Have them strap to the safety handles and heads down. We only have two meters clearance once the KF field initiates-those guys have hull-surfed before, Ayeh?"

"Ayeh, mum."

"Good. nobody panics."

She watched the clock, and the nav console...
