A variant created by 2ndAcr, the Samarkand II-Class AeroSpace Carrier is a WarShip redesign produced in the Fate Can Be Cruel/Hegemony AU's Star League.

Originally built and designed by Draconis Combine as their first home-brew design of WarShip. After the formation of the Star League and it's SLDF, was adopted into service with their modernized variant.

One ship, the SLS Independence would be prominent in the Outworlds Alliance, who's commanding officer had sided with the Rebels working for Stefan Amaris and later captured by forces of SLDF later known as the Forgotten Corps. Further new builds would be built with this new configuration for the Corps.

Armament and Equipment[]

The Samarkand II in service with the Forgotten Corp & Terra Hegemony (in Exile) end up modify the design so to be less ammunition dependent, dropping all expendable. The WarShip would retain it's compliment of 72 Fighters and original Capital grade weapons. The ship's engines would be upgraded so it would be doubling it's speed.

The ship's capital grade firepower is arranged with pair of Medium grade Naval PPCs teamed with pair of Class 35 Naval Lasers in its bow. On each of it's side front arcs, the ship has three powerful Class 55 Naval Lasers. On each of the ship's broadsides mounts pair of Heavy Naval PPCs. Aft-side arcs has another pair Class 35 Naval Lasers in each of it's sides and it's aft having pair of Class 45 Naval Lasers

For it's anti-spacecraft and point defense weapons, in place of it's original LRM, SRM, Medium & Large Lasers, large quality of six Large and Small Pulser lasers has been fitted in all of it's firing arcs.

The Samarkand II's hull has been fitted with by 515 tons of Ferro-Fiberous armor. With 20% more armor on it's front, while the side arcs are moderately armor the aft armor is 20% less than the front. The ship would also be fitted with LF Battery, to extend it's range.

  • SLS Independence : Originally part of the SLDF's 20th Army Corp, however had gone rogue when communications was lost with Star League in the OutWorlds Alliance. The ship would be later captured by Loyal SLDF operating independently in the Alliance's Colony Region. Refitted with new weapons configuration shortly after it's capture, becoming Forgotten Corp only Carrier. It's all energy weapons configure would be basis of a new variant of the Class. Eventually the ship would be assigned to Terra Hegemony (Periphery)'s SLDF's 23rd Carrier Division as it's Flagship[2] and would fight with it's new sister ships in the Terran Hegemony in the Inner Sphere, until returning to the Deep Periphery when it would be mothballed.
  • SLS Benjamin : Terran Hegemony (Periphery) new build for SLDF forces of the Forgotten Legion, 23rd Squadron.
  • SLS Ivory : Periphery Hegemony (1st Fleet)
  • SLS Wasp : Periphery Hegemony (1st Fleet)
  • SLS Flying Demon : Periphery Hegemony (2nd Fleet)
