Overview[]
The Riga-Class Frigate is a canon WarShip, however slightly redesign produced in the Fate Can Be Cruel Fan-Story set in the Hegemony AU's Star League Era. This SLDF Variant of the original ship introduced in 2780, it was created by 2ndAcr. Considered in it's time as frontline combatant, the Riga is able to undertake long range missions due to it's sizable cargo bays and heavy reliance on energy based weaponry.
Like many designs during the Star League Era, as new model of ship were introduced it they sold off to other interstellar nations. In secret some of these ships were commissioned in RWR's secret Rebel army (Fate Can Be Cruel book). These ships would be deployed in secret to the Periphery and hidden fleets awaiting orders from President Stefan Amaris to deploy to take revenge on the Terran Hegemony and take control of the Star league.
Two of these ships would end up being captured by Star League forces in the Outworlds Alliance from "Rebel" forces operating to disrupt Star League operations. While remaining nameless for some reason, these ships would be repurposed and enter service with the Terran Hegemony slowly establishing itself in outskirts of now abandon Colony area of the Outworlds Alliance.
The ships serving the Terran Hegemony (in Exile) are slightly modification with most it's weapon system remaining the same, however these ships were retrofitted with LF Battery and other advanced Star League equipment. This new variant appeared in 2780 in commission of the Forgotten Corp.
Armament and Equipment[]
The Riga Frigates in the service of the Terran Hegemony operating in service SLDF Forgotten Corp, only differs very little from it's original. These Rigas would be noted as being upgraded with additional equipment at the expense of the ship cargo capacity. Including a small Naval Comm-Scanner Suite, allowing to "spot" enemy vessels for other friendly ship with same Suite. Also the installation of the LF Battery, gives the ship the ability, once charge, to make second Jump through Hyperspace without recharge.
The ship's design focus on anti-capital ship weaponry, with blend of long range hitting Naval PPCs and Naval Lasers, where in closer range a Riga could finish destroying its target with it's Naval Autocannons.
The ship has also dedicated Laser bay with blend of Large and Small Pulse lasers to handle conventional fighters that may not be destroyed at longer ranges with Riga's capital weapons.

- Riga II Class Destroyer - Based on the original Riga II, this is a aerospace carrier, which sometimes referred to as Destroyer/Carrier.
- Riga III Class Frigate - Started as a refit of the original Riga, however retaining most of its weaponry and equipment with less cost. Which was direct version of this ship.
- Riga III Class Transport Frigate - Radical refit/redesign of the Riga III, where the ship is converted into armed transport, with increase of DropShip Collars and variation of this design would include Slip Stream technology increasing its range monstrous hundred of light years verses the standard 30 light years all JumpShips & WarShips have been limited to.
