Overview[]
The Potemkin-Class Troop Cruiser is a canon WarShip, however slightly redesign refit and later produced in the Fate Can Be Cruel Fan-Story set in the Hegemony AU's Star League Era. This is the second SLDF Variant of the original ship was introduced in 2786, it was created by 2ndAcr.
Usually referred to as the Potemkin Transport, was the Forgotten Corp's primary troop ship was the SLS Mighty Lift, serving in the Outworlds Alliance. Embedded with SLDF troops when the Periphery Uprising accrued, the ship and it's assigned troops were largely forgotten by the SLDF, which was left fend for it's self. The Mighty Lift was model of further refits fit the needs of the Forgotten Corp, where in 2770 it would be refitted with LF Batteries and additional passenger accommodations. It would server in SLDF in new Periphery expansion of the Terran Hegemony, where the ship would be modified further to concentrate on heavy cargo and passenger service between the worlds of the Terran Hegemony's newest territory. Proven successful, with shipyards coming online, new builds based on the Mighty Lift passenger/cargo configuration , due to the cost savings to having to make cheaper but far more numerous Star Lord Class JumpShips.[2]
Armament and Equipment[]
The Potemkin Transports in the service of the Terran Hegemony (Periphery) operating in service SLDF Forgotten Corp, varies from the original Potemkin as it's weapons would be reduced with the removal of the Heavy Naval PPCs, while retaining much of it's long range weapons in form of its Class 45 Naval Lasers, and eight Barracuda class capital missiles launchers with 40 reloads. The Barracudas is one of the 2786 variant's few methods a Potemkin has to handle small threats such as enemy fighters and Dropships other than it's vast array of DropShips docked to it and escorting ships.
The ship's other features, such as the installation of the LF Battery, that gives the ship the ability, once charge, to make second Jump through Hyperspace without recharge. The ship's carries staggering 75,000 passengers, which was designed help better move the Periphery based Terran Hegemony between it's new worlds and still provide SLDF means move Division worth of troops if needed. The ship would need to reduce it's cargo capacity by 200,000 tons to allow for additional internal passenger capacity.
