Overview[]

The Hazard-Class Corvette is a upgrade variant of the venerable Pinto Class Corvettes produced for Major Periphery nations during the lead up to Periphery Uprising.
Constructed by the former far flung Pirate nation turn small Periphery nation. The Hazard Class is intended for patrol & escort among it's roles.
Five these ships were sold Director-General Helena Cameron's Star League in Exile in the Inner Sphere.

Light Combatant, more gear for anti-ship/droship role. Design has broad array of capital weaponry. While it's anti-aerospace and point defense are heavily bolstered in comparison to other corvettes.

A creation of monbvol, the variant of the canon Pinto corvette vessel conceived by the Star League in Exile's SLDF as backbone of their fleet. The ship was introduced for the fan story Weapons of War Saga: The Final March.

Class History[]

The Pinto Class Corvettes originally designed by the Rim Worlds Republic, which ultimately led the Inner Sphere into chaos. The original ships of Pintos were sold across the Periphery nations. However, the Star League prior yards in the former Republic being destroyed, had secured the plans for the ships. While last of the original class would be salvaged during the Jihad (3067-3081), the isolated SLDF survivors would found a hidden nation known as Sons of Plunder and had constructed new production yard for the corvette.

Completely new constructions, these new Pintos would be produced in secret from the Inner Sphere. The most notable (and known) members of the class would be built in 3143-44.
These ships were purchased by Director-General Helena Cameron from her sister, the leader of the former Sons of Plunder, Elizabeth Cameron. The former Star League colony had reestablish warship production yard for the Pinto, resulting upgrades into what known as the Hazard Sub-Class.

The Hazards would be employed during the Clan Invasion of 3142-3146 trying fend off the deep strikes to conqueror what remained of the Republic the Sphere and allied Inner Sphere powers.

Canonity[]

Armament and Equipment[]

Using the design schematics of the original Pinto, the Hazard's hull bolsters 92 metric tons of Ferro-Carbide, giving it a modest amount protection comparison to other corvettes built in the past. The ship's main power plant, allows it move swiftly in comparison to most ships employed by the SLDF in Exile's Navy.

Like the Pinto, the ship retains two squadrons of Aerospace Fighters and pair of small craft. The ship's cargo capacity is increased to few extra tons over it's predecessor.

It's armament arrangement makes it a light general combatant with wide spread of weapons. The ship's forward anti-warship/dropship weapon firepower comes from it's nose mounted Light Naval PPCs, and forward side mounted facing Class 35 Naval Lasers. For it's anti-aerospace craft defenses is bolstered with five Extended-Range Large Lasers, backed up by 10 Medium Lasers. It's point defense weapons consist of 12 Small Lasers and 20 machine guns.
