The Golden Lion AU or better known as Ian Davion, Golden Lion is a alternate universe of the canon BattleTech universe Written by AlphaMirage.
Story Description[]
Ian Davion, a son of Hanse Davion that shouldn't exist. In this version of this BattleTech universe, Dana Stephenson (Lover of Hanse Davion) survives Battle of Halstead Station in 3014 and marries Hanse, thus the universe is utterly changed.
Story Origin[]
The story origin came from a discussion of "What If" on the Battletech Official Forums. This lead to this fan story, which focus on Ian Davion and his siblings came into existence and changed the course of history.[1]
The Golden Lion AU and it's associated works was created and written by AlphaMirage, envisioned as a less Grimdarky and more snarky setting in comparison to his previous works in form of the Katherine Chronicles.
Difference in Canon[]
The universe is more akin parallel universe where certain technological developments would not come about such as Double Heatsinks. Comstar's repression of technology was not as significant. Events leading to Hanse Davion doomed romance is prevented from failing, giving birth of Ian Davion, named for Hanse's late brother.
