Description[]

The Frisbee is a experimental Stealth Recon BattleMech. Desiged during the last days of the Star League era, engineers from the fallen Terran Hegemony had perfected compact technology, which allow design survey the enemy forces with minimum risk of detection.

Mech was created by Zuper Dragon and posted on Reddit.[1]

History[]

Designed as advanced recon unit. It was equipped with the most advanced stealth tech on the market. The downside however, was this equipment took up most of the tonnage, leaving it with only few tons of armor and only the lightest weapons systems. The save weight further, standard components were replaced with compact versions including the cockpit making it a tight fit for the pilot. With so much tech, the predicted maintenance cost was deemed...extreme for light mech. The design was shelved until its plans were rediscovered during the First Succession War by the Draconis Combine where it was given the name "Shuriken" for it's disc-shaped chassis. By 2799 the unit entered limited production, when the examples of the mech were captured by the Federated Suns and renamed "Frisbee" as a joke. No known examples exist on record.

SB-X1 Frisbee Light Mech (by Zuper Dragon) Profile

Technical Profile of the Frisbee

That is before the design reemerging briefly during the Jihad era among the Word of Blake forces of the Manei Domini. The FSB-X1 variant appeared briefly during the conflict and reeked havoc among Inner Sphere & Clan forces, until design disappeared once again.

Armament and Equipment[]

Not intended for direct combat, the Frisbee relies on it's advanced Chameleon Light Polarization Shield with combination it's advanced Angel Electronic Warfare Suite and it's high speed to operate in the combat theater. With tonnage use, the Mech utilizes only 2.5 tons of standard armor with minimum protection from small arms fire. Among other it's equipment for it's mission, the Mech is also fitted with a TAG equipment to spot for guided artillery and other ordinance .

The FSB-X1 reasonably fast for it's day, powered by it's experimental 180-Rated Compact Fusion Engine, which was offered less vulnerably chances with being damage. However, MechWarriors can use it's Myomer Accelerator Signal Circuitry for boost speed 129 kph hour. Other compact equipment included a Compact Gyro and small cockpit.

It's weaponry include pair small lasers, mounted in each of it's arms. While a Flamer and magshot anti-personal guass rifle mounted center torso and right torso. CASE is installed to prevent castrophic damage from spreading should the Magshot weapon explodes from damage.

Variants[]

  • FSB-X
The original concept designed during the Star League era, where the prior to compact engine & gryo technology. A standard Fusion Engine and Gyro would have been mounted. A Guardian ECM was originally planned for this early design. While TAG and MASC were within available, the miniaturized anti-infantry gauss rifle had yet to be perfected. In place of the weapon was a anti-missile system with CASE protected 1 ton of ammo were fitted in the right torso.
