This whole article is effectively a giant talk page, primarily speculation more than anything else. Here, we discuss our own theories as to what the Clan Afterlife might be like. As usual, remember to sign your posts with the signature button. Ta'kaya (talk) 04:24, July 11, 2016 (UTC)

Guardian's Battle Challenge[]

In this interpretation... When a Clan warrior dies, they meet with a Guardian to the gates of the Afterlife, and their life will be judged entirely through a Trial of Honorable Combat with the Guardian. Combat can last anywhere from a few "minutes" to a few "years", depending entirely on one's perspective of time. (In reality, barely any time passes in the land of the living during the engagement.)

The trial ends when either of the two participants is defeated, or when the Guardian calls an end to the engagement; the latter is more common. In the event the deceased warrior is defeated, they are sent back into the cycle of reincarnation, otherwise they are allowed into the Afterlife. In the rare instance that the Guardian is "killed", the deceased warrior will take their place as Guardian, and the previous Guardian may choose to either reincarnate or enter the Afterlife.

That is my own interpretation, everyone else may share their own in subsequent sections, or comment on mine. Ta'kaya (talk) 04:24, July 11, 2016 (UTC)

Zellbringen Eternal[]

When a Clan warrior dies, they enter Zellhalla, the place where they fight honorable combat in their preferred medium (battlemech, elemental, or aerospace only) during all eternity. Every time they die they reappear in the afterlife. This afterlife is hierarchical, with Trials of Position still in effect. Different clans still exist beyond death and each one of them has their own Khan.

Afterlife privileges are revoked if one deliberately and consciously breaks the Zellbringen laws of engagement. In that caste the warrior is sent back to the material realm to be reincarnated as a freeborn as punishment (there is a slim chance they may get back to a warrior caste before dying, thus passing the "test" and being welcomed back with all honors).

There is no afterlife for non-warrior castes. They die for real.
