BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes is a Fan-Made created campaign set written by Jeremy L Thompson and his group of contributing writers. The multi-book campaign is written as casual campaign for players set in the Outworlds Wastes, the abandoned regions formerly colonized Outworlds Alliance during the Star League era. The extended provinces fell into ruins as the small periphery nation's resources shrunk, leaving millions of people behind. However, the region provides opportunity for would be explorers and lostech prospectors to enrich themselves or deal with pirates and competitors!
The main book gives rules for players on how to play and for GMs on how to manage their campaigns and construct scenarios. Pre-made scenarios are available on the project website, and the rules provide guidelines for creating scenarios. This is intended for both normal Tabletop game play and Alpha Strike game rules.
This is a set; thus there are 3 rule books, with errata:
- BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes (Main league/campaign rules)
- BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes Quick Start (Condensed version of the main book, of fluff with optional rules)
- BattleTech: Outwords Wastes Event Format (Rules for convention or event play)
- BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes Errata (Rule corrections since last release)

- "BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes provides rules for a casual BattleTech league and simplified campaign logistics rules. Players take the role of a commander leading a combined arms force searching the Outworlds Wastes for lost technology and glory. Completing objectives in scenarios earns C-bills that commanders use to maintain and upgrade their forces. Commanders play scenarios in multiple formats, such as BattleTech and Alpha Strike.
Free scenario packs may be downloaded here. There are 3 league scenario packs available, with 14 scenarios, and 5 event scenario packs available, with 12 scenarios, and more scenarios are in development! Also, BattleTech: Outworlds Wastes includes tables for random scenarios and rules for converting Chaos Campaign content!
